With a zeal for technology, producing positive experiences for users of Cascade’s Web site and social media tools comes naturally for Angela. Also responsible for design, integration and management of internal systems, Angela has mastered "on the fly support" for both members and staff. She came to Cascade in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree and a Bachelor of Arts in Writing and Literature from George Fox University. Her expertise is the perfect mix for sustaining Association technology systems and disseminating information to develop good employers into great employers.

Probably one of the most helpful people you’ll ever experience (no kidding), Jocelyn works confidently and thoroughly to ensure employers are linked to the right learning programs – softskills training for employees, supervisors, managers and executives. She is the primary coordinator of both public and on-site training programs. She also maintains the Association’s DVD library of over 100 selections on leadership, communication, and safety topics. Jocelyn is a graduate of Chemeketa Community College’s Business Technology Program and in 2008 earned a certificate in HR Leadership through Cascade’s Human Resource Leadership Certificate Program. Her first stint with Cascade was from 2007 to 2011 and in 2013 she rejoined our Training Team, of which we couldn’t be happier.

Ann is typically your first point of contact when calling Cascade Employers Association, always eager to get you to the right help, quickly. Joining the Cascade team in 2015, Ann has extensive customer service and administrative support experience working for Cover Oregon and in a variety of other diverse industries. Ann is working toward obtaining her Administrative Office Professional degree at Chemeketa Community College. Ann spends her leisure time reading, doing crafty projects and exploring unique little towns. She loves to putter in the garden and she is passionate about animals.



Mary Brunke

A Senior Human Resource professional with a track record of partnering with business leaders to achieve results through motivation and employee development, and aligning talent to business strategies. Mary’s 30-year career includes a variety of industries from shoes and apparel to senior housing; working in almost every aspect of HR from recruitment to talent management and coaching. Mary brings a wealth of HR knowledge and a calming demeanor; she enjoys working with a variety of leaders to solve people challenges at all levels of the organization. Mary’s passion to help organizations succeed through partnership, leadership and teamwork are what keep her excited to be in HR.

Mary grew up in Portland, and earned her SPHR & SHRM-SCP certifications while working full-time and raising 2 kids and a husband. Mary is part of Cascade’s HR Flex Consultant staff and when not doing projects for Cascade, you’ll find her with family and friends, or in Palm Desert soaking up the sun.

Glen M. Fahs, PhD

Glen Fahs, Ph.D. in Adult Education and Organization Development, is a Leadership Facilitator for Cascade Employers Association and the Lead Facilitator for the international Resiliency Center. Certified in Achieve Global systems, Glen serves Cascade Members by coaching managers, mediating conflicts, facilitating meetings and providing customized training. He has worked both internally and as a consultant to corporations, colleges, governments and nonprofits in the areas of leadership, team building, and change management. Glen has been a member of six local boards, serving as Vice President for Habitat for Humanity, President for the American Society for Training and Development, and President of the Oregon Ethics Commons. Glen was a Director of Higher Continuing Education for 18 years along with 20 years as a Training Director. He has taught Communication, Education and Management classes for 10 colleges and universities.

A third generation San Franciscan, he has lived in Oregon since 1979 with his wife, two adult children and fellow Ducks.

Glenda Goodrich

As a seasoned professional with over three decades of ever-increasing HR responsibility and experience, Glenda brings a wealth of wisdom and knowledge to help organizations with everything from setting up new systems, policies and procedures to resolving employee relations issues and providing ideas for increased employee engagement. She offers a balanced combination of a calm down to earth style and a results-driven attitude to help organizations achieve their desired goals. Glenda spent several years working in top HR roles for socially and environmentally responsible businesses. She majored in business at Southern Oregon University, and she received her Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification from the Society of Human Resources Management in 1995.

Glenda is part of Cascade’s HR Flex Staff and when she’s not doing projects for Cascade she is creating art, hiking, kayaking, and enjoying her semi-retirement.

Kasha Halvorson

Kasha has dedicated her entire 30+ year career in the Human Resource profession and partnering with business leaders to achieve goals. Her experience includes working in a wide variety of industries, from shoes to helicopters; and working in almost every aspect of HR, from staff development to executive recruitment. She enjoys the diversity of HR challenges, problem solving and working with people – whether the work settings are local, national or international.

Much of Kasha’s passion as a Senior HR professional is focused on individual, team and organizational performance and success. She is enthused and skilled at collaborating with others to create and develop desired HR systems and practices, process improvements, leadership and teamwork.

Kasha grew up in West Linn, attended Portland State for her HR studies and certifications, and received her Business degree from the University of Oregon. She enjoys sports and Northwest outdoor activities.

With Cascade since 1976, Gayle’s history and her diverse industry perspective make her the perfect person to engage in a conversation about Cascade’s mission and it’s unsurpassed value to employers. She leads the Association's team in providing collaborative, responsive, and solution-oriented services. Applying her experiences from various Association roles, Gayle instinctively assesses the needs of employers, linking them to the resources that advance workplace success. She routinely participates in numerous professional organizations, industry associations and chambers of commerce. She currently serves on the Boards of Employer Associations of America, Incite Incorporated, Oregon Society of Association Management and Mid-Valley Workforce Board. Gayle holds a certificate in HR Leadership and is a licensed Oregon health and life insurance producer.

When Gayle manages to take a break from her Association schedule, she enjoys working in her half-acre garden and fishing on Oregon’s coastal rivers.

Carey Klosterman, PHR

With a down-to-earth style and focused approach, Carey inspires confidence in Cascade’s survey and compensation customers. Based on her extensive wage and salary survey experience and customer orientation, she is highly valued by local, regional and national industry groups for the target surveys she conducts. In addition to market pay surveys, her specialized compensation knowledge and experience enables her to help members align employee compensation with individual and overall organizational goals and strategies.

A graduate of Western Oregon University, Carey earned a degree in Psychology with a focus on data assessment and analysis. She joined the Cascade staff in December 2000 and currently oversees our Survey and Compensation Service areas. She is a highly valued and sought-after compensation professional. Carey has also earned the Professional in Human Resource (PHR) certification from the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and the Human Resource Certification Institute.

With experience at both small non-profit organizations and large global companies, Courtney brings to the team a broad knowledge of human resource practices. Through a personable and analytical approach, Courtney enjoys working directly with companies to develop, analyze, and build compensation structures that fit organizational needs. When she isn’t administering market pay and benefit surveys, conducting research, or assisting with compensation structure design, Courtney enjoys spending time outside, drinking coffee, and watching Duck games.

Courtney earned her Bachelor’s degree of Education at the University of Oregon, her Master’s degree in Strategic Human Resource Management at the University of Denver, and obtained her Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from the Human Resource Certification Institute.

Erin loves helping members create innovative work environments that activate their employees’ intrinsic motivation through training, coaching and team building. She also excels at meeting/retreat facilitation and board development. Prior to joining the Cascade team, she was the VP of Research & Development at Personal Resource Management Associates, Inc., where she specialized in leadership development and management consulting. An active member of the Oregon Organization Development Network (OODN), she has provided consulting to the leadership of many Portland-based nonprofits through the organization’s Community Consulting Project. Prior to her work in organization development, Erin worked as an attorney in California in the public interest sector. Erin received her B.A. from UCLA and her J.D. from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles.

When she’s not working, Erin loves learning new skills and going on new adventures with her 115-pound black lab, Buster.

Julie Mauk

As a native Oregonian, Julie has significant benefits expertise in the Pacific Northwest marketplace, providing consulting services to small to mid-size employers, including many nonprofits. Taking the complexity out of employee health benefit selection, while ensuring employers get what they need at a competitive price, is what you’ll experience while working with Julie. She has worked for over 25 years in various marketing, management and consulting roles, including 17 years with Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon. She also operated her own benefits agency, Mauk and Associates. Julie sold her agency in 2003 and traveled extensively, including living in South America.

She enjoys gardening, outdoor activities and spending time with her furry family (3 dogs, 1 cat). A wine aficionado, Julie recently started making her own wine which is almost ready to bottle.

As our Director of Finance and Accounting, Diane is responsible for a broad array of accounting functions – from Member billings to accounts payable to Trust accounting. She works closely with our President in the strategic management of Association financial resources. With her extensive payroll knowledge, Diane is also available to assist Members with payroll-related questions. Diane brings over 20 years experience in accounting, and is an advisor on QuickBooks Pro applications. Approachable, diligent, and easy to work with, Diane was a perfect fit when she joined the Cascade team in February, 2008.


Ryan Orr, JDRyan Orr, JD

Ryan brings his experience as an employment law attorney and administrative law judge to assist employers navigate the complex and ever-changing waters of employment law through consulting and training. Focusing on some of the most common compliance issues as well as the foundations of human resources such as employee handbooks, job descriptions, employee supervision handbooks, discipline, documentation, performance management, HR assessments and investigations, Ryan’s approachable style will put you at ease even in difficult situations. Ryan is a member of the Oregon State Bar. He is a die-hard Duck and Blazer fan. When he isn’t working, he can often be found on the side of a cliff suspended by carabiners and thin strips of nylon.

As Cascade’s General Counsel and Director of Compliance Services, Jenna primarily focuses on employment law compliance, training, employee engagement and leading a team of HR professionals in providing practical and solution oriented support. A nationally recognized speaker on employment topics, Jenna is also a member of the Oregon State Bar.

Nancy Van Dyke

If you’ve ever made a telephone call to Cascade, chances are you have spoken with Nancy. Nancy leads Cascade’s administrative support staff, providing exceptional support to our members, our Board of Directors, our President, and our staff. She maintains our beautiful facility, and coordinates office resources. Nancy ensures that Cascade maintains its designation as an Oregon Top 100 Best Green Company and our Marion County "Earthwise" Certification. No area of Association service goes untouched by her attention to detail and outstanding customer service. Nancy holds a certificate in HR Leadership and has been with the Association since June, 1991.

Nancy spends her weekends gardening, working on projects around her 1910 farmhouse and scouring local antique stores for hidden treasures.


Bethany Wright

With nearly 10 years of experience in the manufacturing and financial industries as an HR Generalist, Bethany is a welcome addition to the Cascade team. As a consultant, Bethany provides practical solutions to HR issues in many areas including handbook development, HR compliance and best practices, HR program assessments, job description development, and recruitment, to name a few. She also provides on-site HR support to Members, as needed.

Bethany wants to live in a world filled with innovative businesses, constant sunshine, and people who can have entire conversations using only quotes from her favorite TV show, “FRIENDS”. When she’s not reviewing handbooks or providing on-site support to our members, Bethany can be found catching a plane to some random destination with her best friend, building an Ewok village out of Legos, or watching the Avengers save the world from Total Annihilation - for the bajillionth time.

Bethany is a native Oregonian, University of Portland graduate, and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management. She currently holds both PHR and SHRM-CP certifications.
