McKenna manages Cascade’s Survey Department and assists with our Affirmative Action services. She enjoys leading annual efforts to plan, implement, and publish our pay, benefit and custom surveys, assuring high quality and highly valid survey results. McKenna also researches further areas in which to expand our survey services, and provides on-going Affirmative Action plan and program support to Cascade members.

McKenna earned her Bachelor of Arts and Master’s degree in Business Administration with a focus in Data Science from Willamette University. She is currently working towards her Data Science Certificate. In her free time, McKenna can normally be found with a book or knitting needles in her hands.

With a zeal for technology, producing positive experiences for users of Cascade’s Web site and social media tools comes naturally for Angela. Also responsible for design, integration and management of internal systems, Angela has mastered "on the fly support" for both members and staff. She came to Cascade in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Writing and Literature from George Fox University. Her expertise is the perfect mix for sustaining Association technology systems and disseminating information to develop good employers into great employers.

Probably one of the most helpful people you’ll ever experience (no kidding), Jocelyn works confidently and thoroughly to ensure employers are linked to the right learning programs – softskills training for employees, supervisors, managers and executives. She is the primary coordinator of both public and on-site training programs. She also maintains the Association’s DVD library of over 100 selections on leadership, communication, and safety topics. Jocelyn is a graduate of Chemeketa Community College’s Business Technology Program and in 2008 earned a certificate in HR Leadership through Cascade’s Human Resource Leadership Certificate Program. Her first stint with Cascade was from 2007 to 2011 and in 2013 she rejoined our Training Team, of which we couldn’t be happier.

Ann is typically your first point of contact when calling Cascade Employers Association, always eager to get you to the right help, quickly. Joining the Cascade team in 2015, Ann has extensive customer service and administrative support experience working for Cover Oregon and in a variety of other diverse industries. Ann is working toward obtaining her Administrative Office Professional degree at Chemeketa Community College. Ann spends her leisure time reading, doing crafty projects and exploring unique little towns. She loves to putter in the garden and she is passionate about animals.

Caitlin focuses on some of the most common compliance issues as well as the foundations of human resources such as employee handbooks, job descriptions, discipline, documentation, performance management, HR assessments, training and investigations. Her approachable style will put you at ease even in difficult situations. Prior to joining the Cascade team, Caitlin worked in HR for a global creative agency, where she focused on benefits and payroll management, employee relations, compliance, policy implementation, and contract management. During undergraduate and graduate school, Caitlin spent a lot of her time interning for various non-profit organizations in the Portland and Seattle area.

Caitlin received a BA in Political Science from the University of Washington and a J.D from Lewis & Clark Law School. She is also a member of the Oregon State Bar. In her free time, Caitlin enjoys hiking, going to the coast, and exploring different parts of Portland.

Mark Fineran has over 36 years of Human Resource Management experience, including over 20 years in the insurance industry, over 10 years in manufacturing, and over 6 years in the retirement community industry. Mark has handled all aspects of Human Resources including overall leadership and management, coaching management and staff, employee relations issues, benefits design and implementation, 401k administration, worker’s compensation and safety programs, selection and negotiation with vendors, training managers and staff. Mark has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Oregon State University.

Mark’s hobbies include salmon fishing, golf, cycling and time with grandkids!

Applying her experiences from various Association roles, Gayle instinctively assesses the workplace landscape, ensuring Cascade attracts and retains a team of professionals that provides collaborative, responsive, and solution-oriented services. Routinely participating in numerous professional organizations and chambers of commerce, Gayle currently serves on the Board of the Willamette Workforce Partnership as past president and is an active member of the Employer Associations of America. She reports to a Board of 17 executives from Cascade member organizations.

When Gayle manages to take a break from her Association schedule, she enjoys working in her half-acre garden and fishing on Oregon’s coastal rivers.

Lindsay earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business - Human Resources Management from Portland State University. She holds a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification and a Global Remuneration Professional (GRP) certification from WorldatWork. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, camping, and traveling.

Trudy brings over 25 years of human resources and leadership experience to her role as a Senior HR Consultant on the Cascade team. Her previous experience ranges from working in employment and compensation at a manufacturing company to serving in an executive HR role for a family-owned, international business.

At Cascade, Trudy brings her strategic approach in assisting members with a variety of HR projects including training and talent acquisition. Her passion is recruitment and selection where she excels in matching the best candidates with job opportunities. Trudy has filled a wide-range of vacancies during her career, from specialized, hard-to-fill positions to executive-level roles. Trudy is committed to helping members navigate their employee challenges. Her friendly, collaborative style makes it easy to engage quickly and get results. She believes in having fun at work and enjoys building lasting relationships.

Trudy earned her B.S. in Business Administration from Oregon State University and is an organizational development certified professional (ODCP). She also holds a PHR certification and is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management.

Trudy and her husband live in a small community where you can often find them supporting their local high school sporting events and other activities. In her spare time, she enjoys the outdoors and spends time hiking and camping with her family. Her list of favorite places include Yellowstone and Sedona, Arizona.

Alexis James is a longtime educator and innovator. She supports Cascade members in activating contemporary responses to leadership development and employee needs through training, coaching, and team building. As a former classroom teacher, she is an engaging and empathetic trainer at meetings, board trainings, and mediations.

Prior to joining the Cascade team, she was the Program Director at a statewide literacy nonprofit, where she specialized in creating an inclusive culture through supervision training, data analysis, and diversity, equity, and inclusion implementation. Alexis is a native Oregonian, earning her Master’s Degree from Lewis & Clark College.

With nearly 20 years’ experience working with organizations of all sizes and industries, Sheryl is skilled at linking employers to the resources that advance workplace success.

Sheryl received a BA in Business Management from Linfield College and holds a certificate in Nonprofit Organization Management. In her spare time Sheryl enjoys fishing with her husband on the high lakes of Central Oregon, playing with her two black labs, Molly and Lucy, kayaking on the Willamette River or planting a ridiculous number of flowers in her backyard.

As our Director of Finance and Accounting, Diane is responsible for a broad array of accounting functions – from Member billings to accounts payable to Trust accounting. She works closely with our President in the strategic management of Association financial resources. With her extensive payroll knowledge, Diane is also available to assist Members with payroll-related questions. Diane brings over 20 years experience in accounting, and is an advisor on QuickBooks Pro applications. Approachable, diligent, and easy to work with, Diane was a perfect fit when she joined the Cascade team in February, 2008.

Gustavo’s experience as a Human Resources Director provides him with a real-life perspective on common issues employers are faced with every day. He enjoys the challenge of finding creative solutions to workplace problems and is very personable in his training sessions. He is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) since 2017 and is bilingual, dominating both the English and Spanish languages.

Juan Rodriguez

Juan has over 13 year’s experience in the field of Spanish interpretation and translation services. His specialties include understanding a variety of regional accents, linguistic styles, indigenous accents and slang. He is especially gifted in the field of simultaneous interpretation, making his services invaluable in high priority assignments dealing with sensitive content. In the interpreting field Juan regularly works with people from various backgrounds and age groups on assignments ranging from public services to the medical industry. Working with Cascade Employers Association on a variety of translation projects, he has a wide understanding of the human resource management field.

Juan was born in Mexico City and has lived in the United States since 1985. He is active in Portland's Hispanic community, thanks to his translating and interpreting services. In his spare time he is an avid rock climber and regularly travels to foreign countries and the north American continent in pursuit of his climbing adventures.

With over 10 years of bookkeeping and accounting experience, Kelli is a valued addition to our Finance and Accounting Department. After completing her Associates Degree in Accounting and Technology, Kelli worked for a variety of organizations in the areas of administrative support and finance. At Cascade she supports billing processes, assists members with billing-related questions and offers expert guidance on payroll compliance issues.

Kelli has a love of the outdoors and spends her free time camping with her husband and two sons.

A trainer, counselor and executive coach, Bill has been engaged in enhancing workplace learning and productivity since 1981. He is an expert at facilitating organization development that embraces forward-looking leadership and direct communication.

Bill is a Certified Achieve Global Trainer in both Genuine Leadership and Stellar Customer Service. His wealth of workplace experience includes 10 years as the Director of Employee Assistance Programs for Southwest Washington Medical Center ,15 years as the President and CEO of EASE, a premier Northwest Employee Assistance Program and Executive Director of the Ketchikan, Alaska Chamber of Commerce. In consulting with hundreds of workplaces, Bill teaches practical management techniques with real-world applicability. His clients vary from landscapers to CEOs, from welders to college professors. Bill has a Bachelor degree in Psychology/Sociology from Duke University and a Master’s degree in Counseling from Florida Atlantic University.

Bill is generally accompanied to the office by his furry friend, Flynn (think blond Toto). He spends much of his spare time outdoors and enjoys running, hiking, and Timbers games.

Nancy Van Dyke

If you’ve ever made a telephone call to Cascade, chances are you have spoken with Nancy. Nancy leads Cascade’s administrative support staff, providing exceptional support to our members, our Board of Directors, our President, and our staff. She maintains our beautiful facility, and coordinates office resources. Nancy ensures that Cascade maintains its designation as an Oregon Top 100 Best Green Company and our Marion County "Earthwise" Certification. No area of Association service goes untouched by her attention to detail and outstanding customer service. Nancy holds a certificate in HR Leadership and has been with the Association since June, 1991.

Nancy spends her weekends gardening, working on projects around her 1910 farmhouse and scouring local antique stores for hidden treasures.


Bethany Wright

With more than 13 years of HR experience in differing industries, Bethany brings a wealth of hands-on knowledge to the Cascade team. As a consultant, Bethany provides practical solutions to HR issues in many areas including handbook development, HR compliance and best practices, HR program assessments, job description development, and recruitment, to name a few. She also provides on-site HR support to Members, as needed.

Bethany wants to live in a world filled with innovative businesses, constant sunshine, and people who can have entire conversations using only quotes from her favorite TV show, “FRIENDS”. When she’s not reviewing handbooks or providing on-site support to our members, Bethany can be found catching a plane to some random destination with her best friend, building a Millennium Falcon out of Legos, or watching the Avengers save the world from Total Annihilation - for the bajillionth time.

Bethany is a native Oregonian, University of Portland graduate, and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management. She currently holds both PHR and SHRM-CP certifications.
